On Thursday April 14th, 2016, Houston LFC hosted an evening with Alan Kennedy. Alan, (born 31 August 1954) is an English former footballer who played as a left back.

Between 1978-1986, Alan made 251 appearances for Liverpool FC and scored 15 goals. He also represented England at senior international level. Alan Kennedy was a great attacking full-back who had a knack of scoring vital goals that helped Liverpool FC clinch silverware.

On an unforgettable night in Paris his blistering cross-shot fizzed past the Real Madrid 'keeper in a blur to bring the European cup to Anfield for the third time in five seasons.

His astonishing record of scoring in big games continued as he struck a second-half equaliser against Manchester United in the 1983 League Cup final.

A year later came the most dramatic moment of all, the decisive penalty-kick in the shoot-out that followed the 1-1 draw with the Italian champions from Rome, who had been given the advantage of playing the European Cup final at their own stadium.

Alan is a much sought after dinner speaker and in The Doubletree Suites venue in Houston Galleria, Alan talked to his audience about his experiences over his 22-year career.

On Friday April 15th, 2016, a fun day out with Alan took place at the Humble FootGolf Club and we also arranged a special live radio night earlier in the week, with Glenn Davis, ESPN Soccer Matters presenter who interviewed Alan at the ESPN studios in Houston.
